Rep. Paul Ryan Blames Election Loss on ‘Urban’ Voters

by Kulture Kritic

Mitt Romney’s vice presidential pick, Rep. Paul Ryan (Wis), doesn’t think Republicans lost on the issues, but because too many ‘urban’ voters came out to vote.

“I think the surprise was some of the turnout, some of the turnout especially in urban areas, which gave President Obama the big margin to win this race,” said Ryan to local affiliate WISC-TV . “When we watched Virginia and Ohio coming in, and those ones coming in as tight as they were, and looking like we were going to lose them, that’s when it became clear we weren’t going to win.”

Here’s something for Ryan to mull over: Urban voters think too. Urban voters have issues that they care about too, same as southern, midwestern, and rural voters.

They’re not drones who just come out every time   there’s a black man running for president. Urban voters heard the Romney/Ryan  message,  and didn’t agree with it.  Why is that so hard to acknowledge?

Of course, Ryan doesn’t see the election as a referendum on his budget or ideas, which were all soundly rejected by the American people.

“I don’t think we lost it on those budget issues, especially on Medicare — we clearly didn’t lose it on those issues,” he said.

If Romney/ Ryan didn’t lose the election on the issues, then what did they lose it on? Snowflakes? Unicorns?

Only in Ryan’s mind does losing an election mean winning on the issues. He’s delusional, and in that sense, so is the rest of his the Republican party.
